1 Overview

PrayerLock ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the PrayerLock mobile application handles your information.

PrayerLock is built on a privacy-first principle: your prayer data, location, and personal information are yours alone. We have deliberately designed the App to operate entirely on-device with no external data transmission.

2 Data We Collect

We collect no personal data on any external server. The following data is generated and stored locally on your device only:

• Display Name: An optional name you choose to set in your profile (never transmitted)
• Prayer Logs: Your daily prayer check-off records stored as a local JSON object
• Streak Data: Current and longest prayer streak counters
• App Settings: Calculation method, lock mode, notification preferences
• Internal User ID: A randomly generated 8-digit number used only for local identification — not linked to any identity and never transmitted
• Last App Open Timestamp: Used to decide whether to show the splash screen (stored locally)

None of this data leaves your device.

3 Data We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Your GPS coordinates or location history (location is processed on-device only to compute prayer times)
• Device identifiers such as IDFA, IMEI, or advertising IDs
• Behavioral analytics, usage patterns, or session data
• Crash reports or diagnostic logs sent to our servers
• Any biometric data
• Payment or financial information (handled entirely by Apples)

4 Device Permissions

PrayerLock requests the following device permissions. Each is used solely for its stated purpose:

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings app. Revoking a permission disables the related feature but does not affect other App functionality.

5 Local Storage

PrayerLock uses AsyncStorage — a standard React Native local storage mechanism — to persist your data on your device. This is similar to how a notes app saves your notes locally.

All stored data is scoped to the PrayerLock app on your device. It is:

• Accessible only to the PrayerLock app
• Automatically deleted when you uninstall the App
• Not backed up to our servers (though iOS/Android device backups may include it, per your system settings)

6 Third-Party Services

PrayerLock uses a minimal set of third-party services, none of which collect your personal data:

• Google Fonts (web): Used on this website only — not in the mobile App.
• Apple App Store: Handle app distribution and optional in-app purchases. Their respective privacy policies apply to those transactions.

We use no analytics platforms (no Firebase Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics).

We use no advertising networks of any kind.

7 In-App Purchases

Optional Supporter purchases are processed entirely by Apple App Store. PrayerLock does not handle, process, or store any payment information.

The only information we receive from a purchase is a boolean flag confirming your supporter status — stored locally on your device.

8 Children's Privacy

PrayerLock is suitable for users of all ages, including children, as it collects no personal data. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

Because no personal data is collected at all, PrayerLock is inherently safe for family use. Parents can use the App with confidence that no private information is being gathered from their children.

9 Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:

• Access: Your data is visible within the App (prayer logs, streaks, profile)
• Correction: You can edit your name and prayer logs directly in the App
• Deletion: Use the "Delete Account" option in My Space to wipe all data, or simply uninstall the App
• Portability: Not applicable — no data is stored on external servers

For residents of the European Union (GDPR) or California (CCPA): since we collect no personal data on our servers, most regulatory rights are automatically satisfied. If you have any concerns, contact us at the email below.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through an App update notice.

Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
